Shoot Me Film Festival at Movies That Matter Festival

Tijdens het Movies That Matter Festival zullen het Shoot Me Film Festival en cultureel maatschappelijk energiebedrijf PIP de zaal ‘bij Herman’ in de foyer van Theater aan het Spui bezetten. Deze twee eigenzinnige Haagse organisaties zullen een spontaan programma samenstellen dat aansluit bij Movies That Matter. Tijdens het festival zullen er kleine debatten, een veiling voor een multimedia project in Gambia, en een expositie plaatsvinden. Ook zal doorlopend het filmprogramma Exile or Exit uit het programma van het Shoot Me Film Festival worden vertoond. Vast staat dat het een aaneensluiting wordt van verrassingen en ontdekkingen die aansluiten op de hoofdthema's van het Movies that Matter Filmfestival

Over vreemdelingen en mensen die vervreemd zijn van zichzelf. grenzen lopen niet alleen door landen maar ook door levens.

Lost Paradise
Oded Binnun, Mihal Brezis; France, Israel; 2008; 9'50''
een man en een vrouw bedrijven teder de liefde in een goedkoop hotel. als zij zich weer hebben aangekleed is de magie van hun samenzijn opeens verdwenen. een moderne interpretatie van het verhaal van adam en eva.

Mimoune
Gonzalo Ballester; Spain; 2007; 12'
Documentaire over de illegale afrikaanse immigrant Mimoune die een videoboodschap stuurt naar zijn gezin in Marokko. De film toont hoe een gezin door omstandigheden gedwongen wordt om gescheiden van elkaar te leven.

Phone Story
Berivan Binevsa; Belgium; 2009; 16'
Mémo is een Koerdische immigrant die in Brussel de manager is van een belwinkel. Zijn eenzaamheid voedt zijn nieuwsgierigheid. al snel luistert hij mee met de gesprekken van zijn klanten en vooral die van de mooie Leïla.

The Other War
Tamar Glezerman; Israel; 2008; 43'30''
Tijdens de tweede Libanonoorlog worden drie vrouwen gevolgd in Tel- aviv. De stille eli wordt verliefd op de knappe en non-conformistische Naama. eli’s zus galit is ondertussen bezig om haar bruiloft te plannen met een militair. eli staat symbool voor het moderne Israel dat deels nog traditioneel is, terwijl mensen dromen van meer individuele vrijheid.

Super Amigos
Artrup Pérez Torres, Mexico, 2007, ‘82
Deze worstelaars gooien hun handdoek in de ring om zich als echte superhelden in te zetten voor homorechten, dierenrechten, de armen, daklozen en het milieu. Super Gay, Super Animal, Super Barrio, Ecologista Universal en Fray Tormenta gaan in vol ornaat, zoals Mexicaanse worstelaars betaamt, met cape, masker en maillots de straat op. Ze lijken zo uit een stripboek gewandeld, maar worden door hun daadkracht door veel Mexicanen bloedserieus genomen.

During the Movies That Matter Festival, the Shoot Me Film Festival and the cultural social energy hall PIP will occupy the room "with Herman" in the foyer at the Spui Theatre.  These two organisations will make spontaneous program in line with Movies That Matter. During the festival there will be small debates, an auction for a multimedia project in Gambia, and an exhibition will take place. Also, the film program Exile or Exit from the Shoot Me Film Festival program will be screened continuously. It is clear that this will be program of surprises and discoveries that fit the themes of the Movies that Matter Film Festival

A man and a woman are tenderly making love in a cheap hotel. Once they have got dressed again, the magic of their meeting suddenly disappears. a modern interpretation of the story of adam and eve.

Mimoune
Gonzalo Ballester; Spain; 2007; 12'
Documentary about the illegal african immigrant Mimoune, who sends a video message to his family in Morocco. The film shows how a family is forced by circumstances to live apart from one another.

Phone Story
Berivan Binevsa; Belgium; 2009; 16'
Mémo is a Kurdish immigrant who manages call shop in Brussels. His curiosity is fed by his loneliness. He quickly starts to listen in to the calls his customers make; particularly those of the attractive Leïla.

The Other War
Tamar Glezerman; Israel; 2008; 43'30''
During the second war in Lebanon, this film follows three women in Tel aviv. Quiet eli is in love with the attractive non-conformist Naama. eli’s sister galit, meanwhile, is busy planning her wedding to a soldier. eli symbolises modern Israel – still traditional, while people dream of greater individual freedom.

Super Amigos
Artrup Pérez Torres, Mexico, 2007, ‘82
These wrestlers throw their towel in the ring to set themselves to work as true superheros for gay rights, animal rights, the poor, homeless and the environment. Super Gay, Super Animal, Super Barrio, Ecologista Universal and Fray Tormenta are in full regalia, as befits Mexican wrestlers, with cape, mask and tights on the street. They seem to have come right out of a comic-book, but because of their vigor they are taken very seriously by many Mexicans.
